Bianca, 19, Santa Monica,CA. I have no idea what I'm doing with my life anymore.

I feel like the animators of Pokemon saw a staple remover and thought to themselves,

Zubat”

I remember when the first episode of Pokemon aired back in the 90’s and my sister and I woke up extra early to watch it and my dad made pancakes and it was just a really big deal.

A week or so later a ton of merchandise was released at Toys R Us and my sister and I were going crazy over these huge pillows.

The next week, my sister had gotten Pink Eye and had to stay home from school. During that week, my dad had picked me up from school since my mom was at home with her. He kept asking me such weird questions about Pokemon.

“Which one’s your favorite?”

“Do you like the yellow ones or the orange ones?”

Then my dad held up two lollipops. One orange, one yellow.

I chose the orange one. (Orange flavored things have always been my favorite).

Then he asked me,

“Do you like Pikachu or Charmander more?”

I answered Charmander.

I got home where my sister was given the yellow lollipop.

Then my dad walks over to the freezer and pulls out two push pops, one yellow, one orange. I, of course, picked the orange one and my sister picked the yellow one.

Then my dad asked us together,

“Which Pokemon do you like better, Pikachu or Charmander?”

I chose Charmander, My sister chose Pikachu.

Things were getting suspicious, so I just kind of walked upstairs to my room. When I got there, I looked at my bed, and it didn’t seem right. It took me a minute to realize that there was a lump under my covers.

I threw the covers over and discovered a HUGE Charmander pillow. Just like this one:

I SCREAMED and ran down the stairs with this huge pillow that was basically just as big as I was and my sister ran upstairs to find her Pikachu pillow under her blankets.

Orange and Yellow :)

I think that is my fondest memory I have regarding Pokemon or my childhood.

I still think my dad was really clever for asking a ton of questions and manipulating our choice with colors and flavors.
